Rockstar was a Futurity Herdsire of the Year

There are very few farms that have the priviledge of owning a Herdsire of the Year. We feel fortunate to have been an owner of Rockstar from 2007 until he passed away in 2013. With his sudden passing, we reflect on how he has truly made a positive impact on the industry. He will not be an easy one to forget- his sons and grandsons continue to win at top shows across the country and hit top rankings in EPDs.

Rockstar has certainly done it bigtime for us in our own program, contributing significantly to Eldora's winning Breeder of the Year in 2013 and the Suri Network Judge's Choice in 2014. Rockstar's sons and daughters will go on to build and fine tune Eldora's winning breeding program for generations to come.

And now for more interesting 'Rockstar Trivia'......

DID YOU KNOW THAT:

1. The 2014 & 2015 Futurity Male Judge's Choice Winners are Rockstar Grandsons. And get this- each winner was sired by a different Rockstar son!

2. The 2015 Futurity Light Get of Sire winner is a Rockstar son. Rockstar may be the first in history that a Herdsire of the Year produced a son who won the Get of Sire Trophy at Futurity!

3. 50% of Rockstar's 135 offspring are......... not white! In fact, many excellent black and dark bloodlines are emerging from Rockstar lineage.

4. In the beige/light category, the EPD Mate Selector top rankings are peppered with Rockstar offspring and grand-offspring. Rockstar and many Rockstar offspring are ranking in top 1% EPDs

5. The 2014 Suri Network Judge's Choice winner is a Rockstar son- Eldora's Tempo by Rockstar.
